-This vintage slab stoneware vase is so stunning, but I’m looking to part with it. Signed by the artist (Tomo or Tomod?) in beautiful font, this perfectly square vase is a very roomy 5.25”x6.5” and the diameter of the opening is 15” around.
Based on the design and motifs it’s very possible it’s made by a South African potter , a Japanese potter, or someone influenced by the style.
(It does not have a potters “mark” or stamp)
-The white dot on the face of the vase is embedded in the glaze and is a part of the piece, as well as a streak of white on the back where excess glaze has cured. This piece is FLAWLESS.
I have a theory that it might have had a lid with it at some point but it appears to be a finished piece.
